Before watching:

I am a fan of Sandra Bullock. I have watched The Proposal (2018) more than twenty times, and The Blind Side (2009) is next level. She knows how to do comedy and drama, but I have not seen her in a horror movie before today. So, I am throughly excited to see what her scared face looks like. She tends to make the funniest expressions in her comedies, so I wonder what her face does when she is terrified.

After watching:

I did not expect this movie to scare me, but it actually did. I think it played with me both psychologically and with the physical terror of the jump scares. I told my brother how much it scared me and he laughed, as brothers do. It honestly frightened me more than the movie, It (2017).

The scenarios, the emotions, the realistic nature of some of the events that happen, it kept me on the edge of my toes throughout the whole movie. I stayed up to 3 a.m. to watch the ending, without stopping once to get a snack or use the bathroom. That is a feat.

Final Thoughts:

While watching this film, I couldn’t help but think about what I would have done if I was in the same situation as the characters. Would I give up easily, or would I keep pushing to survive even if I did not know what my future would be? What would I do if I was not able to contact my family, and how that would effect me?

It is a sad scenario to wonder about. I think this mental dilemma is what made this movie so scary and consuming for me. I felt for the characters, what they were going through, and the near constant tough choices they had to make.

So, should you watch it?

Yes, but it might make you jump, cry, and pee your pants, if you refuse to pause the movie because that is how intensely into it you might become.

My Rating: 7/10

Rating: 7 out of 10.

Scary, suspenseful, well-played. I was always entertained. The story was better than I expected. I was surprised how into it I got, considering horror movies are not my thing. Overall, I found the plot to be well developed, even though some of scenarios were cringely predictable. It’s rare that a film can make me cry, shock me, and then still leave me wanting more. Would I be in for a sequel? Yes, I would. I can walk around my house blindfolded, so call me.
